Live wedding painting

From a moment to an heirloom

A quiet moment together at a stone doorway, captured in oils as the wedding celebration unfolded — from the first brushstrokes to the couple's reaction.

01

The moment

The bride's flowing train, the bouquet of white flowers, and the light through the doorway became the heart of this painting. The photograph and wedding-day film show the moment that inspired the canvas.

At the easel

As the celebration continued, I worked at the easel, building the stonework, the windows and the couple's portraits in oils. These clips follow the brushwork and the painting taking shape around the guests.

The reveal

The couple came over to see their painting together — a hand to the heart, a closer look, and a hug. Their first-dance clip holds another moment from the evening; the framed artwork brings the story home.

Zack & Ryan

A live wedding painting created on site at The Vancouver Club, finished in oils while the celebration happened around the easel.

01

The setting

Candlelit sconces, ornate mouldings and tall windows. I set up my easel in one of The Vancouver Club's historic rooms, so guests could drift over and watch between moments.

The painting comes alive

Layer by layer, the scene Zack and Ryan chose took shape in oils: sky, ivy and stone first, then the two of them standing together at the centre.

Yes — Whistler, the Okanagan, Vancouver Island and beyond. Travel fees apply outside Metro Vancouver.

How far ahead should I book?

Most couples book 6–12 months out. Summer Saturdays go first.
